Privacy Policy for Foldate
Last updated: September 21, 2026
Foldate ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Foldate mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address (for email/password accounts) or a randomly generated identifier (for guest accounts).
- Journal content: Entries, mood data, and any photos you choose to attach to your entries.
- Subscription information: If you subscribe to Foldate Premium, our payment processor (RevenueCat, via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store) handles your payment details. We do not collect or store your payment card information.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the App's core functionality (storing and syncing your journal entries across devices).
- To manage your subscription status.
- To respond to support requests.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Foldate:
- Supabase: for authentication, database storage, and file storage. Your account data, entries, and photos are stored on Supabase's infrastructure.
- RevenueCat: for subscription and payment management.
- Google Drive (optional): If you connect Google Drive from Settings → Data Backup, we use Google's APIs (via Google Sign-In) to upload and restore a backup of your journal entries and photos. This is stored in a private, hidden app-data folder in your own Google Drive. It does not appear in your regular Drive, and we do not request access to any of your other files. This only happens if you explicitly connect your Google account; nothing is sent to Google otherwise.
These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are not permitted to use your data for any other purpose.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete Account, or Profile → Delete Account). This permanently and immediately deletes your account, journal entries, and photos from our systems. This action cannot be undone.
5. Children's Privacy
Foldate is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can exercise these rights directly within the App via the account deletion feature, or by contacting us at the email below.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
